In addition to building complex parts completely from customer supplied prints, we also offer our services on a job shop basis.  As a rapidly growing company we are frequently adding new capabilities to meet our growing customer needs.  If you do not see the service you need contact us to see if we are adding it.  We are very proud of having one of the most experienced aerospace manufacturing teams in the industry today. As a premier ISO AS9100 and NADCAP company we are constantly training and reexamining our manufacturing methods. 


Welding

We offer a wide assortment of traditional and non-traditional welding processes such as GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), Electron Beam (EB), PAW, GMAW-P, Micro-TIG, Resistance Seam Welding (RSW), plasma seam welding of tubular shapes and others for metals like titanium, zirconium, aluminum, inconnel and many other metals.  Our welders and weld shop is certified to all national standards including ASME, NADCAP and many aerospace standards such as AWS D17.1, D1.9, MIL-STD-248, MIL-W-46132, AMS 2680, AMS 2681 and many other difficult to qualify for specifications.

 
Hot Forming / Super-Plastic Forming

Hi-Tech has developed a new way to hot form titanium and other metals that is redefining what is possible both in cost and in design.  This system generates no alpha case on titanium metals and has virtually no size limitations.  The system is similar to traditional Super-Plastic Forming (SPF) but solves many of the problems associated with the traditional SPF processes.  Our process is now approved by major aerospace customers such as Lockheed, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, General Electric Aircraft Engine Group and others.

Heat Treating

We have 3 hard vacuum furnaces ranging in size from  48" in dia. by 48" deep to  72" in dia. by 96" deep,  with an additional vacuum furnace to be installed the first quarter of 2008 that is 96” in diameter by 120” deep and capable of 2,4000F at 5 Bar.

 
Laser Cutting

Hi-Tech uses an advanced state of the art 6-Axis Laser Cutting machine with one of the largest operating envelopes available.  The machine has a 2,500 watt laser capable of cutting at up to 5,000 watts pulsed with a working envelope of X-177” x Y-96” x Z-36”.  This unusual machine is both cost effective in small quantity lots as well as large production runs.

Machining

We offer a full range of traditional and CNC machining capacity from simple Bridgeport type equipment up to 5-Axis vertical machining.  Our machine shop builds our own precision tooling used in the production of customer hardware, as well as job shop machining.

Non-Destructive Testing

Hi-Tech offers a full range of radiography (X-Ray), fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), ultrasonic inspection (UT), coordinate measuring (CMM) and other non-destructive testing services.  Our NADCAP (National Aerospace Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) covers all of our NDT processes.  We maintain certifications with many of the major aerospace manufacturers such as Lockheed, Northrop, Honeywell, Raytheon and many others.  We also routinely perform services for non-aerospace customers like Solar Turbines, United Defense, TIMET, Wah Chang, ARDEC (Army Research and Development Center), Bath Iron Works, US NAVY and many others.  Our Technicians are ASNT Certified Level III and Level II in the various NDT processes in addition to various customer certifications.

Engineering

Hi-Tech now offers a full Computer Aided Design and Engineering (CAD/CAE) capability.  We use a range of software programs including SolidWorks, CATIA and COSMOS with access to other programs on an as needed basis.  We have a unique capability in understanding titanium materials, particularly as they apply to our forming process.  We have converted many components from different materials to titanium to achieve our customers goals such as weight savings, reduced maintenance, improved performance and even cost reduction over existing hardware.
