February 28, 2005 -- We have just finished installation of a Prima Optima 5-Axis laser cutting machine with a PRC 2,500 watt CO2 laser (5,000 pulsed). 

The New Frontier in Laser Machining

Hundreds of installations throughout the world testify PRIMA INDUSTRIE's leadership in large laser cutting and welding machines. OPTIMO, its largest 3D laser machine, is mainly used in car body manufacturing (cars, trucks, etc.) and aerospace industry. Largely employed for prototypes, spare parts and low-medium volume production, this versatile laser tool finds new applications in industrial manufacturing processes.

Large working volume (more than 10 m³), flying optics system, Cartesian, gantry, unitized structure, high accuracy and easy programmability make OPTIMO a 5-axis machine ideal for the fast and precise processing of large 3D parts.

The quick-mounting interchangeable heads make it possible to switch from one production to another and to further widen the application range of this highly flexible machine. With the right tool, OPTIMO cuts, welds and treats surfaces of the most complex and "critical" pieces.

  • 2,500 Watt PRC Laser generator pulsed to 5,000 W integrated in the machine
